Directed by Joe Swanberg
One of Greta Gerwig's first movies is this "mumblecore" picture also featuring Mark Duplass. Very loosely structured film that seems to rely heavily on improv. Could have been technically executed a bit better. Like actually attempting lighting and proper use of a microphone. Also, could have spent more time on a script. Some scenes drag quite a bit. But ultimately I think it basically works, Gerwig has lots of charm. The rough-hewn style fits into a DIY aesthetic seen in other artforms today.
